Orchard CMS is out, greenfield dev is in

Tags: OrchardCMS, orchard, fail

Okay, I have banged my head against Orchard CMS for the last time. Honestly, just trying to get back the learning curve was too much for me. When trying to move my frame of mind to a similar context, but with a different opinion (and Orchard is so convention based that you can't do anything without meeting their opinion head on), the obstacle was too great.

I am talking about simple stuff here, not rocket surgery. Adding categories to something? Sure, I should get the taxonomy module and learn that, oh, then if I want to create relationships between items, well, I will need to learn to create relationships for that too (and it isn't exactly easy).

Orchard CMS is extremely difficult. The issue lies in having to learn something completley proprietary and foreign whenever a new *simple* feature needs to be implemented.

Bah, off to go write from scratch.
